Negotiation

Many, if not most, things in life end up being negotiated. Each side often ends up in a deadlock when they are unwilling to negotiate a win-win situation. Wars continue as each side claims its righteousness and can’t or won’t negotiate.

There is currently a war going on in the US regarding illegal immigrants. Trump wants to get the criminal element out first and then other illegals, as his mandate suggests. Protests throughout America are turning violent. Maybe it’s time to negotiate a compromise to end this war.

Is it necessary to deport those who have been here more than five years and are law-abiding? Those who are contributing to society and paying taxes should be looked at differently. Do you need to deport roadside fruit sellers? What about critical workers for agriculture, construction, gardeners, or pool men?

When you have a net to snare the bad guys, you will also inadvertently haul in some who have not committed crimes other than coming here illegally.

With not enough judges to review each case, it is impossible to give them the right to a fair trial.

It is extremely difficult to undo the harm caused by the past open borders policy. To safeguard against future problems created by previous administrations, laws must be passed, or the executive actions by one President will be undone by the next President.

Maybe the number one problem that needs to be fixed in law is the immigration problem of illegal immigrants. We need comprehensive legislation from Congress…now, not tomorrow.
