Tradition

I read that NYC Mayor Mamdani wants to eliminate the historical horse-drawn carriage rides in Central Park. He says that it creates a public safety issue, as an 18-year-old man fell and died.

I don’t know if or how many people were injured or died in the past, but I would think very few. Should we ban automobiles, or airplanes, or other forms of transportation because of accidents and death?

Livelihoods will be destroyed, and tradition will be lost. I remember our first trip to NY and having the romantic pleasure of riding through Central Park in a horse-drawn buggy.

This tradition has been going on for 168 years…find a way to keep it alive and safe for future enjoyment…tradition is important.
