Urban re greening
The LA Times just reported that 44% of the 312,000 acres of pavement in Los Angeles is not necessary. The crushed concrete can be recycled.
It can be replaced with green space, trees, and grass, helping the environment by cycling nutrients, regulating water, and altering soil and climate conditions. They may absorb sunlight, Carbon dioxide, and minerals for photosynthesis while releasing Oxygen, creating habitats, stabilizing soil to prevent erosion and influencing local temperature and humidity through transpiration of shade.
Not only would it make LA more beautiful, but it would give pride and greenery to the most affected areas while helping the environment.
Just imagine the desert with only sand vs a desert in bloom.
