Group Think

Let’s say that you belong to a group, maybe a club, or a school, or a fraternal organization, etc., and they are expressing racist and or anti-Semitic views…do you remain silent, express your opinion, stay, or leave?

Many things we were once a part of have changed. It could be your school, your political party, your business, your team, etc.

Growing up and a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, each year the team was basically the same with a few additions and subtractions. Today, the names are the same, but with free agency, professional and college sports are no longer the same. I think we mostly have a tendency to remain loyal to the team or group we started with…even though they are not the same.

Change is a part of life, and we have to adjust to it or fall behind. It’s just that change is not always for the better.

I was once a Democrat, and the name remains the same, but the Party changed. Today it is changing again, to a Democratic Socialism…and not for the better.

Now celebrating America’s 250th anniversary as a Democratic Republic, will we still be celebrating it in the near future?
