Sound Bites

For the most part, we receive our information in the form of sound bites. For advertising on Radio, TV, or Cable TV, you get a 30-second ad or a 60-second ad. On the internet and various information apps like X, you will see mostly short snippets of information. We really don’t get the in-depth pros and cons of information in longer formats.

When viewing News on Broadcast Media, they are always cut short due to time restrictions….ie, when talking to a panel of guests, “you get the last word as we only have 30 seconds left.”

This is where I think Charlie Kirk had the most impact…DEBATE with those who had opposing views. We, as a Democracy, need to have more one on one debate in a civil manner, with more than sound bites, and not use violence as a means to solve issues.

Open dialogue, giving each viewpoint time to express itself…let each of us choose what is in the best interest of ourselves and the Country.

People today, especially young people, live in the sound bite era and don’t have the patience to read longer forms of opinion.

If you are unable to talk to one another, then nothing will change. It’s time to heal ourselves and America, for we are a beacon of light to the world.
