Birds of a Feather
The adage “Birds of a feather flock together” is inherent in the animal kingdom and especially with the human species.
It’s very difficult to break out of group thinking, which locks you into agreement or disagreement as to the group's points of view. Are you locked into following all of the Republicans or the Democrats points of view?
How do you feel or react to extremist views in your political party? How can you escape divergent views within your party or group? We play follow the leader or the boss because we are in their group or company. If we disagree, we may be ostracized and or fired.
We have the right to Free Speech…but do we really, without being vilified?
We exist in a society of hierarchies and follow the chain of command.
As Winston Churchill once said, “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others that have been tried.”
When our Country was first established, the electors voted on who would be President, with the person getting the second most votes being declared Vice-President and often being from a different party.
The world has shrunk into one giant supermarket of trade between countries ever since the World Trade Organization. Does it make any sense to antagonize your customers? No, but we do with how we deal with them through Tariffs and or threats.
We may be the most powerful nation on earth, but we need to keep our friends and alliances, or they may do business with our enemies…like Canada and China.
